MADFINGER GAMES has released Patch 0.4.3.0 for Gray Zone Warfare, continuing the studio’s rapid post Spearhead update support with a new activity system, tactical map improvements, gameplay fixes, and another large wave of bug fixes across nearly every part of the game.

The update is now live on all servers. Players who do not see the download immediately may need to restart Steam to trigger the update.

Long Term Contracts Introduced

The biggest addition in Patch 0.4.3.0 is the arrival of Long Term Contracts, or LTCs. These new assignments are designed as larger scale objectives that send players across multiple regions to search for valuable items, investigate remote areas, or eliminate specific targets.

According to the developers, there are currently 48 Long Term Contracts available in the game. Unlike normal tasks, LTCs unlock as players discover new regions across Lamang Island and are displayed in their own dedicated panel on the tactical map.The system appears to be aimed at giving players more long form progression and exploration focused objectives outside the standard mission flow.

Tactical Map Receives Major Improvements

The tactical map also received a noticeable overhaul in this update.
Regions are now highlighted with visible borders when hovered over, making navigation and area identification much clearer. The updated region widget now displays additional information including the most common enemy type in the area and the percentage of the region that players have already explored. Task descriptions have also been updated to include regional information, helping players better understand where objectives are located before deploying.

Gameplay Fixes Continue

Patch 0.4.3.0 includes another large batch of gameplay fixes focused on combat consistency, player synchronization, and AI behavior.
One major fix addresses AI NPCs respawning at combat outposts while players were still nearby. The patch also resolves several problems involving player hitboxes, including cases where players could appear invincible or have their hitboxes become misaligned while sprinting or rotating. Grenade related bugs continue to receive attention as well. An issue where weapons could become invisible after switching to grenades during stance changes has now been fixed. Other gameplay improvements include fixes for helicopter landing issues that could push prone players underground and corrections to the Rangefinder scope displaying multiple distances simultaneously.

More Weapon and Scope Fixes

Weapon handling and optics continue to be a major focus for the developers.
The update fixes several mounting and magnifier compatibility problems, including cases where players could bypass attachment restrictions or create malfunctioning optic setups. The camera position while using magnifiers has also been adjusted for a better aiming experience. The Mossberg M590 received a specific durability fix after players reported handguards breaking after a single shot. Additional fixes addressed missing reticles, attachment compatibility problems, and third person rendering issues involving scopes and crosshairs.

UI and Map Fixes

The user interface received another extensive cleanup pass. The developers fixed multiple overlapping menu issues, task marker duplication bugs, incorrect notifications, infinite loading screens, and problems with squad invites becoming inactive. One particularly notable fix addresses the player visibility system introduced in Patch 0.4.2.0. The UI should now correctly report visibility values inside specific biomes where players previously noticed inaccurate readings. Enemy faction starter regions are also now hidden on the map.

World and Environmental Improvements
Several world related issues were corrected throughout Lamang Island. Players can no longer vault through a glass door at the UNLRA Headquarters in Tiger Bay, while multiple invisible collisions and stuck spots across starter towns and Ban Suk were fixed. The developers also resolved issues involving loot spawns in the Midnight Sapphire Hotel and visual problems with water drainage in YBL 1 West.

More Updates Planned

MADFINGER confirmed that additional patches are already planned as development on the 0.4 update cycle continues. Future updates are expected to focus on balancing, optimization, gameplay enhancements, and expanded squad play support.

The studio also reminded players that all editions of Gray Zone Warfare remain on sale for 25 percent off through May 25.
