Where is all started:
—ORIGINAL REDDIT POST--
Alright, I’m looking for some fresh ideas and community input. We’re kicking things off with a classic forum type setup to get the site up and running quickly, but the bigger vision is to evolve into a full 3D library-style hub for weapon builds, guides, and more. Think of it as a digital armory meets community hangout.

We're also thinking about hosting events and other interactive content to keep things fun and engaging. I’ve locked down a killer domain too, so we’re off to a solid start. But I really want this to be a community driven project which means your feedback and ideas are key.

Looking at the numbers, the peak for this game was 71,503 players back on May 24. Right now, we're seeing around 1,700+ daily players. I get that the game is still in development, and there's room to grow. But I believe a tight-knit, active community complete with events, discussions, and endgame ideas can help boost engagement and give players more to do once they hit max level, instead of just wiping and starting over.

So what would you like to see? What would make this your go-to hub?
I would like to thank each and every one of you who has helped make this website possible with your feedback and ideas. This site is, and always will be, a collection of your contributions. Moving forward, this will serve as the official roadmap for your continued ideas, feedback, upcoming features, and projects currently in development. With that said, please continue to share your thoughts and ideas below, and let’s work together to make this the ultimate community source for Gray Zone Warfare Players!

COMPLETED TASK

[1] A functioning forums / website hybrid, that can serve as the base of operations as we develop our main website:

- This will allow users to register, gather game data and resources, as well as game news + give us feedback as we move forward. Once the official website is completed, the website portion of this site will be absorbed, and this site will function as our forums and user database. As we will merge both sites into one!

[2] SQUADS & Factions:

- The squads portion of this community has been completed. As well as Gray Zone Warfare Player factions. Players can now join the main faction they sided with in the game and also create Personal SQUADS, that will operate as a base of operations. This Squad can be made being the following:
  • Public - Anyone may view the discussion list, and the discussion content.
  • Closed - Anyone may view the discussion list, but only members may view the discussion content.
  • Private - Only members may view the discussion list and discussion content.
  • Hidden - Only members may view the Squad or any of its contents
This HUB will be a way to share and or showcase information, setup events, have private discussions share strategies and share media, both publicly and privately. Maintain a player roster and more!

[3] Faction Missions:

- This is the ultimate source for vendor missions with pinpoint details relating to the particulars of any given mission with an interactive map. All faction missions are accounted for, as well as equipped with a dedicated forum for each vendor for that faction. Making sharing information very structured and organized.

[4] Media:

- A place for all media (Images & Videos) relating to Squads, Factions, Game news, How tos, PVP hunting and more! Users can now share anything media related in an organized and categorize fashion.

Gray Zone Warfare - Community Request.

  1. How about a “best path to take” for specific missions, or to enter specific areas
  2. itll be pretty difficult but like a cod style attachment comparison chart
  3. Here is an idea. TWL use to be a website that featured Clan matches. 4v4 teams would schedule, play on given dates and fall into a ladder based ranking system. Anyone remember this? Bring that back is the idea I have. They even had a shit talking area that all clans could post there on every match being played. Was a great time.

If interested i can go over just how everything was set up in detail.
  4. Compiling all of the community-derived data and information would be sick. There's a lot of isolated knowledge out there in random spreadsheets and links that only get shared from time to time. Maybe they could be annotated with dates and times to indicate that information may be stale, etc.
  5. There's a few really good spreadsheets with ballistics/penetration tests. I think these may be out of date at this point or if they're not, they soon will be.

    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...PEPA52JPJbAZ3_7Uphn22LaXWDpaShNiJ7UI/pubhtml#

Maybe some kind of living documents on site with with community-source data like these could be handy? I would be happy to chip in with testing if that's something you think you might consider for the website
  6. Weapon Builds that can be vendor procured with each level of vendor would be amazing.
IE: Level 1 Vendors can build this M4, AKMN, etc...

Also, ammo information would also be amazing to include things like penetration, distance, etc.... Something like tarkov ammo.
  7. Another idea would be to add a "News from the battlefield" area for updates, news and rumors about the game.
  8. Builds / Loadouts
  9. Secrets / Lore Hunt (add spoiler warnings)
  10. I’d love an easy way to find people to play with without having to open a thread, for example. Maybe players could specify their faction, level, tasks, language, and whether they’re open to playing with strangers. That way, I could choose from a pool of players who I’d like to message.
  11. Bullet drop charts (I know we have zeroing, but a lot of distances are in between the 100m gaps, and it's helpful to know how much above/below I have to aim to compensate) | Over all improved Velocity
  12. I appreciate the effort and passion cause some people like old school forums. Personally my rotted brain needs a shiny interactive websites. Like Battlefield Battlelog used to be (it still exist just only for BF3 and BF4) where i can see my stats. or a wiki that shows all the vendors, weapons

#1 I feel like we completed this request with Faction Missions, as information can now be shared in each faction vendor sub forums. - I’m marking this request - Complete

#2 I need to get more info about what the user had in mind. - Need more info

#3 Setting up a bracket system would not be a problem. We would need more community feed back on rules of engagement - Need more info.

#4 and #5 - We’re currently working on an interactive ballistic spreadsheet. @Tronimus will have more on this later. - In Progress

#6 & #8 We plan to implement this idea soon. - Progress TBA

#7 This request has been completed

#9 This feature will have to come in the future as MadfingerGame.com put lore on hold for now - TBA

#10 This request was completed with SQUADS. You can reach this from the main Nav bar.

#11 This will be incorporated in our interactive ballistic armor chart. Likely not in v1.0 however.

#12 Laying the ground work down now, and will begin production soon after our interactive tools are complete.

Please keep request coming, we are taking them very seriously. Our goal is to build the ultimate community source for GZW and we can’t do that without your support.

We're excited to launch one of our first initiatives with our new interactive ammo analysis tool. This tool will allow you to see bullet penetration values across different calibers while comparing different types within the caliber - such as PS vs FMJ.

Huge shoutout to the community for coming up with the initial dataset that we've started from! In the future we will maintain the data, expand the features and build a tool that gives players better insights into the choices they make bringing gear onto the battlefield.

I remember seeing one with headset test results, but this is the closest thing I could find:

Just wear the GSSHs. Haha

Not sure if it's yours to modify, but the map could do with some added info and filters such as:
  1. Medical bags/cabinets
  2. Tiered loot and ammo crates
  3. Red dot Enemy spawns (gear on click)
  4. Enemy number per radius (depending on zoom level)
  5. Red lines showing enemy patrol routes (zoom in required) with mouse over/tap/click indicating amount
  6. Red star Boss spawns
Other site I use has this info apart from patrol routes, enemy gear, crate tiers and more detailed info on enemy number per radius.

You're talking about Faction Missions, right? When it comes to the map, that's not ours it's powered by https://maps.tcno.co. We've discussed making our own, but our focus has been on the Ballistics Armor Chart atm. Perhaps if the community feels it's needed, we can turn our attention to it. But until then, like you said, there are already many good options out there. We're just making it so you can simply click and get the info needed to complete the mission.

But with that said, you do have some interesting ideas!

Heya, came here from reddit to post a request for the new ammo comparison tool you're working on, looks great!

I've been wanting to find something that can show me a few statistics that are important to me as someone who likes to pick off enemies at a distance:

Bullet drop charts (I know we have zeroing, but a lot of distances are in between the 100m gaps, and it's helpful to know how much above/below I have to aim to compensate)

Damage/penetration drop-off charts (from what I saw of earlier resources, there can be some quite extreme drop offs, especially for smaller calibers like 9mm), knowing what will be a consistent 1-hit kill and what won't once you reach a certain distance is greatly helpful.

Related to the above: damage when firing from suboptimal angles (I.E. hitting the chest from the side through an arm), as well as damage to sub-optimal hit locations (will I black out the liver/guts if I hit someone a little too low for example, or will they be hurt but still fully functional? big difference).

Finally I'd like to see a small addition that shows which armors block hits to which organs and from which angles, (I.E. lungs or lungs+liver from the front) or possibly a visual representation of the armor plates inside the armors on a mannequin, since they seem to cover quite a bit less than the armor visually covers (good simulation tbh, but I can't see the armor plates coverage in game). Would help with visually identifying where I could most effectively shoot someone when using ammo that gets stopped by their armor for example.

You can try this map as well: https://mapgenie.io/gray-zone-warfare/maps/lamang-island.

These are awesome suggestions, I will look into adding these!

@Tronimus beat me to it. This is really good feedback Dailato. Thank you for taking the time to share this with us. Also, welcome to the community!

Idea:
Allow users to know (pvevp) if the landing zone is hot prior to insertion or extraction.

Knowing that an enemy is somewhere near your landing zone (or that players had been killed recently in the zone) would be key and is typically known intel in these IRL situations.

Smoke would also aid this issue. Effective M18 use or M929 Smoke rounds for the mortar system to make an entire landing zone temp. safe from sniper fire. Etc.. lots of ideas to play with there on the subject.

But just so we know.. this will become a massive issue with large player counts. It is far too easy, and basically meta to simply camp a high traffic LZ with a DMR or SR. Its fun to have the tension with hot LZ. Don't make it 100% safe.. just provide depth if possible.

If Arma or DayZ taught us anything with MMORPG Mil Sims is this.. meta will be used and to an extent that it can cause real issues with player count and retention.

btw.. thanks devs. This game is truly special

First, I’d like to say welcome to the community. But also. I wanted to point out that we are not affiliated with mad finger games. We’re just a community fan website.

I'm not Happy about the last patch, because the night Is too much dark and the AI Is too much challenging....
