A Better Experience for New Players
One of the biggest changes in Patch 0.4.7.0 is a complete overhaul of the game's onboarding process. The tutorial has been streamlined with simpler objectives and a smoother progression from your first helicopter ride into Lamang all the way back to base camp.
It is important to note that the new onboarding experience is only available to completely new accounts. Existing players will not see the updated tutorial, even if they perform a character wipe.
Animation Improvements
Several animation related bugs have been fixed, making player movement feel more responsive and reliable.
The update fixes an issue where players could not quickly transition from sprinting into the prone position. It also resolves problems that caused character poses to become distorted after vaulting over obstacles and eliminates a bug where grenades could become stuck in the player's hand after opening the game menu while preparing to throw them.
World and Terrain Fixes
MADFINGER continues to clean up areas across Lamang where players could become trapped or fall beneath the map.
Patch 0.4.7.0 fixes multiple locations throughout the world, including:
- Blue Lagoon
- Fort Narith
- Sawmill
- Starter Towns
- Tiger Bay
- YBL 1
These fixes remove numerous spots where players could become stuck between terrain objects or accidentally fall through the environment. One of the most notable fixes addresses players falling underground after exiting helicopters, an issue that occasionally resulted in lost gear and frustrating recoveries.
Base Camp Improvements
Another welcome fix resolves a bug that could leave players vulnerable to friendly fire while vaulting inside base camp. Since base camps are intended to be safe areas, this change closes an exploit that could unexpectedly put players at risk.
Known Issue
There is one significant issue accompanying the release of Patch 0.4.7.0.
[WARNING]Custom servers are currently unavailable in this version.[/WARNING]
MADFINGER has acknowledged the problem and stated that a hotfix is already in development with the goal of restoring functionality later this week.
Final Thoughts
Patch 0.4.7.0 is another maintenance focused update that continues to improve the overall stability of Gray Zone Warfare. While players hoping for new content may have to wait a little longer, these fixes address several long standing frustrations and continue to refine the Spearhead experience.
The improved onboarding should make it easier for new recruits to learn the game, while veterans will appreciate the growing list of bug fixes that make movement and exploration more reliable.
As always, MADFINGER encourages players to continue submitting bug reports and feedback as development moves forward. With another hotfix already planned for custom servers, it is clear the team remains committed to improving Gray Zone Warfare one update at a time.
