Operators,

After months of development and field testing, GZW|NET is proud to activate two major systems to the Squad Tools A full Mission Calendar and a military-grade Deployment Board built directly into the site. No third-party tools. No Discord forms. No DM spam. Everything happens right here nice, neat and organized.

THE MISSION CALENDAR

Every squad now has a full mission calendar built directly into their squad page. Head to the Missions tab on any squad you are a member of to see it.
Screenshot 2026-03-28 013644.png

The calendar shows the entire month at a glance. Days with scheduled operations are marked. Click any mission day and you go straight to the Mission Briefing. Squad Leaders who click an empty day go straight to the create form. No extra steps, no navigation.

A mini calendar sits in the sidebar of every squad page at all times. It shows dots on days that have missions so you always know at a glance what is coming up. click any dot to go straight to that briefing. Squad Leaders get a quick-create link at the bottom.

Creating a mission is straightforward.Title, date, objective details, and it is live on the calendar. Squad Leaders can edit missions at any time or delete them entirely. When an operation wraps up, squad leaders mark it COMPLETED. If a mission gets scrubbed, it gets marked CANCELLED. Both states are visible on the calendar so the history stays on record.

MISSION BRIEFING

Screenshot 2026-03-28 013705.png
Every mission has a full briefing page with three tabs.

BRIEFING The mission details, date, objective, and status. Members can RSVP directly from here. Attending, Declining, or Maybe. If you are attending you are on the list. If you are not, your squad leader knows.

ATTENDANCE A full list of who is attending, who declined, and who has not responded. Squad Leaders can see exactly who is in for the op.

INTEL Additional mission context and notes.

Squad Leaders also have an Edit Mission button and an Invite Squad button directly on the briefing page.

MULTI-SQUAD OPERATIONS — INVITE OTHER SQUADS TO YOUR MISSIONS

This one is worth talking about properly.

From any mission briefing, squad leaders have an Invite Squad button. Click it and you get a full list of every player squad on the site. Their squad icon, their name, their member count laid out as a checkbox list. Select the squads you want on the op, hit submit, and it is done.

Each invited squad's supervisor receives a direct message from GZW|NET BOT with the mission details, the date, and a direct link to the briefing. They click the link, see the full operation brief, and their squad members can RSVP the same as anyone else.

Think about what that actually enables. A squad plans a large-scale operation and needs numbers. They invite three other squads. All four Squad Leaders coordinate through the site. All members across all four squads are synced! You can see the briefing, leave comments, RSVP their attendance, and show up on the same Attendance tab. The hosting squad can see exactly who is coming from every invited unit. The best part it happens right on your calendar as if its your own scheduled mission nice and clean and well organized!

Cross-squad ops. Joint operations. Coordinated assaults. It is all built in.

THE DEPLOYMENT BOARD — FIND YOUR SQUAD

Running alongside the Mission Calendar is the Deployment Board The first dedicated squad recruitment system this community has had. Head to Squads > Deployment Board in the navigation. Two tabs. Two missions.
Screenshot 2026-03-30 200725.png

SQUADS RECRUITING shows every squad actively looking for new operators. Each card gives you the intel you need at a glance. Their region, language, experience level, timezone, ops schedule, minimum age, and a direct link to their Discord. Click VIEW UNIT PROFILE to see their full squad dossier and submit a deployment request.

OPEN DEPLOYMENT is where operators who are actively looking for a squad post their card. If you are between squads or just got into the game and need a home, this is where squad leaders find you.
Screenshot 2026-03-30 201112.png

OPERATOR PROFILES — YOUR DOSSIER

Every registered member now has an Operator Profile A military dossier that represents you on the site.
Screenshot 2026-03-28 014057.png

Find yours under Squads > My Operator Profile or in your account dropdown menu. Tell squads who you are:

  • Your region and timezone
  • How many hours a week you play
  • Your experience level
  • Whether you have a mic
  • Your Discord tag
  • What you are looking for in a squad
  • An About Me section
  • Your player Stats

When your profile is complete, flip the switch to AVAILABLE FOR DEPLOYMENT and your card goes live on the Open Deployment board for squad leaders to find you.

Your profile also displays your current squad, how long you have been with them, and your full Service Record. Honorable Discharges, Dishonorable Discharges, MIA count, and total Completed Missions pulled straight from the Mission Calendar.

REQUESTING DEPLOYMENT

See a squad you like? Hit VIEW UNIT PROFILE on their card, read their unit profile, agree to their rules, write them a note, and submit your deployment request. Their Squad Leaders get notified immediately by the GZW|NET BOT. You get a confirmation. They review your full operator profile and make the call.

No more "DM me on Discord to apply." It is all right here.

SQUAD INVITES

Squad Leaders can also browse the Open Deployment board and invite operators directly. Click INVITE OPERATOR on any card, write a personal message, and send it. The operator receives a direct message from GZW|NET BOT with your squad info and a link to join.

Rate limited to 5 invites per squad per 10 minutes — so make your picks count.

THE DISCHARGE SYSTEM — YOUR RECORD FOLLOWS YOU

Squad history matters. The system tracks three types of discharge, visible on every operator's profile and card for 45 days.

HD — Honorable Discharge
Left a squad in good standing. Issued by a supervisor. Nothing to be ashamed of.

DD — Dishonorable Discharge
Kicked from a squad. Recorded automatically. Other squads will see this.

MIA — Missing in Action
Left a squad without a formal discharge, just vanished. Recorded automatically.

These are not permanent marks. They drop off after 45 days. But squad leaders will see your recent history when they review your deployment request so play it straight.

IT IS ALL CONNECTED

That is the point. The Mission Calendar and the Deployment Board are not two separate features they feed into each other.

The missions you run on the calendar build the record you carry on the Deployment Board. The squad you find through the Deployment Board is the one you run missions with on the calendar. Every operation attended. Every discharge logged. Every squad served. All in one place, on your operator profile, visible to every squad leader on the site.

A NOTE ON SQUAD CONDUCT

The Discharge System is real and visible. Squad Leaders use it correctly. Kicking a member automatically records a Dishonorable Discharge on their profile. If a member left on good terms, process an Honorable Discharge through the Recruitment tab so their record reflects that.

Operators, if you are going to leave a squad, do it properly. Going MIA is noted.

This system only works if everyone uses it honestly.

OFFICIAL GROUPS

Community-wide groups. Crimson Shield, Lamang, Mithras Security Systems, and WARFARE | BALLISTICS TEAM are designated as official groups. Members of these groups can still join player squads without any conflict. If you believe a group is missing from this list, reach out to staff.

QUESTIONS & FEEDBACK

Both systems were built from scratch specifically for this community. If you run into bugs, have ideas, or want to see something added post in the feedback forum below or reach out to staff directly.

More features are coming. This is version one.

The Mission Calendar is live. The Deployment Board is open. Find your squad. Build your record.

UPDATE: GZW|NET Squads Now Support Discord Integration
Screenshot 2026-04-08 230839.png

Squad leaders can now connect their squad directly to Discord. The new Discord Integration feature, found in your squad's navigation panel, allows squad leaders to link a Discord webhook and receive real-time notifications for squad activity including new deployment requests, operator approvals and departures, mission briefings and intel posts, attendance updates, and new squad discussions.

Setup takes less than a minute. Create a webhook in your Discord server channel, paste the URL into your squad's Discord Integration page, choose which notifications you want to receive, and save. Your squad's Discord channel will start receiving rich embed notifications automatically.

Each notification links back directly to GZW|NET so your team can act on it immediately whether that's reviewing a deployment request, checking mission attendance, or jumping into a new discussion.

Available now to all squad leader on grayzonewarfare.net.

UPDATE: GZW|NET BATTLE BOARD NOW LIVE FOR ALL SQUADS

Screenshot 2026-04-11 224612.webp

Battle Board is a live tactical map tool built directly into your Squad pages giving squad leaders and coordinators a real operational planning space that lives alongside your missions.

The Battle Board is a persistent, real-time interactive map of Lamang that your squad uses to plan and coordinate operations. It lives inside any mission you create through your Squad's Missions tab. Once a Battle Board is set up and locked in, it becomes the tactical reference point for that operation. Visible to your members, updated in real time, and tied directly to your Discord through our webhook integration.

WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH IT?

Squad leaders and battle coordinators can place a full set of tactical markers directly onto the Lamang satellite map. Objectives, insertion points, enemy positions, extraction points, danger zones, and custom route lines can all be dropped with a single click. Every marker supports a label and color so your board stays organized no matter how complex the operation gets.

Zones can be drawn freehand as polygons directly on the map, letting you define patrol areas, no-go zones, landing zones, or any area of interest your squad needs to communicate. Each zone carries its own name and color.

The full-screen mode gives you a dedicated tactical view with a side panel listing everything placed on the board, with the ability to remove items without leaving the map. The board auto-refreshes so every member watching sees updates as they happen.
Screenshot 2026-04-11 225308.webp

Squad leaders control who can place markers. Through Board Settings on each mission you can allow members to submit markers live, hold them in a queue for coordinator approval, or lock submission to coordinators only. The same permission tiers apply to invited Squads separately from full members, so you have full control over your operational security. Labels can be set to always display above markers on the map, or only appear when a marker is clicked. Your call depending on how cluttered your board gets.

ADDED DISCORD INTEGRATION

When you lock in a Battle Board for the first time, your squad's linked Discord channel gets a notification. Same when a board is updated with a re-lock. If you haven't linked your Discord webhook yet, head into your Squad's Discord Integration page and drop in your webhook URL.

UPDATE: GZW|NET LOADOUTS

Screenshot 2026-06-03 164628.webp
Setting up a custom event just got a whole lot easier. Event makers can now build a full mission loadout right inside the event, powered by LOADOUTS by GZW|.NET.

When you create or edit a mission, you build the loadout the same way you shop in game: click a vendor, then select the exact items you want with a single click. Pick from any vendor, across any rep level, and decide precisely what gear your event calls for.

Screenshot 2026-06-02 025443.webp
Once it's locked in, your squad sees exactly what they need. Every authorized item is grouped by vendor, so there's no guessing what's allowed. Each item shows the vendor and rep level it unlocks at, so people can fast track straight to what matters. And a single click on any item pulls up its full details, including stats, manufacturer, and price.

No more scrambling before an op. No more burning the first 20 to 45 minutes of your event getting everyone kitted up. Your people show up ready!
Because the loadout has its own shareable link, you can send it out ahead of time. Post it in chat, drop it on socials, wherever you like. It's a clear, detailed loadout sheet that answers the questions before they're asked.

This round also brings a wave of improvements driven by feedback from our live events: visual refinements across the board, the ability to add links, files, and images in mission Intel, and countless little tweaks throughout. We hope these updates iron out the issues a lot of you ran into.

Additional add-on features
The ability to Save or Load per-configured Battle Boards or Loadouts.
However this is a feature that needs to be purchased with Battle Points in the Points Store

UPDATE: GZW|NET OPERATOR
Operator has been added to the LOADOUT. Users now may pick player attire. As of 06/08/26

HOW TO GET STARTED

Open your Squad page and go to the Missions tab. Create a new mission or open an existing one and click the Battle Board tab. From there you can start placing markers immediately in Draft mode. When your board is ready for your members to see, hit Lock In and it goes live.

Squad defaults for permissions and label display can be configured once under Squad Defaults so you don't have to set them per mission every time.
we'll be expanding it based on how squads actually use it. Get in there and let us know what you think. And please, leave your feedback. We genuinely want to hear what you think.

Nice to see it live. I know all the work that went into it. Hopefully the community appreciates it, and can get some use out of it.

That is the goal. Feedback is much appreciated. Let us know how we can better shape this to fit your needs.
